Identity crisis yes, but a great unit!
As I read through all the reviews before buying this, I was surprised to see how many people discuss it as an audio system and compare it to other docking/audio systems.

I researched EVERYTHING for an ipod alarm clock and this was the only product that caught my eye. I went to Best Buy and checked out the Ihome products and they just didn’t seem…

Great as an alarm clock and small sound system
After using a Logitech alarm clock/Ipod speaker system for a while I decided to get this one, for the price difference against the one I had, I thought this one had to be better…

Another Fine Product from Altec Lansing
I have been using this speaker system for over a month now and I must say that it is well made and thoughtfully crafted for the bedroom, although I use mine in the bathroom.

Altec Lansing M402SR Is Lacking Some Common Sense
The audio sounds above average, the remote snooze is great, but you can’t wake up to a reasonable volume level!

Way better than Sony or any other clock radio I’ve ever used
I’ve never had a bad Altec Lansing product yet and this speaker system does not disappoint. Sounds WAY better than my Sony alarm clock/radio compatible with Ipod Touch 2G.

Very good sound for the size
Let me start by saying that I don’t think that this product is meant to be used in your living room or rec-room.
